Local Drug and Alcohol Campaigns

   Minimize

The DAAT is involved with several campaigns aimed at promoting treatment services for drug and alcohol misuse and also promoting safer drinking in the City.

What's Yours? Alcohol Campaign

Sheffield DAAT is running an advertising campaign on buses for help for alcohol problems. The document Alcohol Campaign 2012 contains more information and pictures of the advertisment on Sheffield buses.

Best Bar None

Every year the Best Bar None scheme accredits bars, clubs and restaurants that work to create a safe and sensible night time economy in Sheffield.  The scheme looks at several factors including safety measures such as the use of polycarbonate glasses and responsible alcohol retailing.  You can view details of the 2011 Best Bar None awards and the 2010 Best Bar None awards in this section.

Help is at Hand

The Help is at Hand campaign launched a new single phone number for drug and alcohol misuse in Sheffield.  Given the complexity of the treatment system and the potential for changing providers of different services the number was launched in order to give a single, consistent point of contact for people who want to know more or need help.  The phone line provides an independent signposting service that people can phone up and be directed towards the service that best suits their needs.  People can phone the line if they are concerned about a friend or relative or if they are experiencing substance misuse issues of their own and would like advice about how to take the next step towards treatment.

Alcohol Awareness Week is an opportunity for the DAAT to work with our partners and a national initiative to help educate people about the dangers of excessive drinking.  The Alcohol Awareness page contains more details about past Alcohol Awareness Week activities.
